Welcome Reception at Hotel Palace

A first personal meeting or a big reunion of the conference’s participants in the lobby of Hotel Palace. The participants can get to know each other and talk within a relaxed atmosphere. There will be one drink for free and small snacks. ATTENTION: The small snacks do not replace a dinner. There are many restaurants and food stalls close to the hotel. 

The privately run Hotel Palace Berlin is located in the vibrant heart of the capital center between the Kurfürstendamm and Zoological Garden, just a few stations away from the Brandenburg Gate and Berlin’s conference center. The Kurfürstendamm, also called the Ku`damm, is one of the most favourite tourist attractions of the German capital.

The conference will take place in Urania. Urania is centrally located in Berlin’s Charlottenburg district. It’s only a few minutes away from Berlin’s elegant Kurfürstendamm and the legendary department store “KaDeWe”. The Tiergarden is only a 20-minute walk away. It is Berlin’s largest park with the famous Victory Colum as well as many other monuments and museums.

Urania was founded in 1888 and is now a center for dialogue between science and the general public. Leading scientists speak about their research here in an understandable way. In addition, approximately 400 events take place here annually. These include plays, concerts as well as business and political meetings and conventions which are not only for professionals. Urania has about 250,000 visitors a year and is one of the most famous venue locations in Berlin. There are seven multi- functional halls on seven floors with a total area of 2,500 square meters. The halls are equipped with the latest lecture and presentation technology. There is also a restaurant and an espresso bar.

For decades, dreams were recorded on celluloid films on the groups of UFA- Film Studios in Southern Berlin. Shortly before the demolition of the building in 1979, the “second life of ufa” began. This unique European living and working project continues today at the international cultural center ufaFabrik, Berlin.

There are approx. 30 residents and over 200 employees living and working on the 18,566 m2 property. They try tirelessly to link different sectors of society together such as housing, employment, cultural events, creativity and social life.
